Sign holders
9 June 2008 | Photography
I spent an couple of hours walking up and down Oxford Street taking pictures of sign holders, more for practice than anything else. I’m sure about ten years ago there was only one, holding a massive ‘GOLF SALE’ sign. Now they’re every 20 feet. Some have been every day for years. I assume this type of advertising must work, although they’re much easier to ignore than the ubiquitous intrusive charity workers – hmm ICWs – acronyms can be useful for dehumanising people.

Anyway these ‘practice’ pictures are ok. I’m still getting used to the camera. At least the exposures are largely correct – still need to get closer. Another use for this journal is to document my own development – in this respect the pictures should get better over the months and I can analyse my progress as time passes.
